Elk River, Minnesota (April 30, 2009) – After a successful inaugural winter season, the Extreme Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota (ERX) has been transformed over the past month into a professional quality motocross facility and the doors open this weekend for the first of a six race motocross series at ERX.

Track developers have spent the past 6 weeks designing the best track possible to fit within the confines of the ERX facility. It was all done using three-dimensional design software and then implemented using the latest technology in laser earth works. Even the special blend of soil at ERX was given scrutiny. Not only is it the perfect “loam” for motocross, but also every inch was power sifted, ensuring few rocks made it into the meticulously manicured track.

“We wanted to go the extra mile when developing this track,” said Todd Plaisted, co-owner of the ERX facility along with Chris Carlson. “I think once riders get out and experience what we have here, word will spread fast and we’ll see full gates throughout the summer.”

The park opened for its first day of motocross practice on Tuesday, April 28 to about 50 riders (photos are available for viewing at www.erxmotorpark.com). Even more bikes were expected on Thursday for the second day of what will be a weekly open track practice schedule throughout the season. Then on Saturday, May 2, the first race of the ERX Motocross Series will get underway with gates opening at 8:00am, practice starting at 9:30am and racing at 11:00am.

Entry fees for the motocross series is just $30 for adults for the first class and $20 for each additional class; youth classes are only $25 for the first entry and $20 for each additional. Currently there are approximately 20 designated classes with a level of competition for everyone.

And just like the winter ERX Grassroots Snocross Series; friends, family and fans are encouraged to attend. A family friendly atmosphere, ERX features tasty concessions from the Friendly Buffalo, great viewing of the entire track and affordable fun with spectator gate fees at just $8 with kids 5 and under admitted for free.
