These bikes have two seals in the pipe, mine appear to be warren out and because my pre mix is a little rich it leaks the excess fuel oil mixture down the front of the motor.

I went and got new springs and what I thought was the seal kit I needed, but it turns out the seal is the same diameter as the outside ring of the pipe and there is only one.

I'm wondering if this o-ring isn't supposed to go between the pipe and the cylinder? or do I just have the wrong one?

the metal crush ring is supposed to go inside the pipe and when the springs are applied, crush between the pipe and the exhaust port thus sealing the pipe off

Ok so there is supposed to be a metal crush ring in there? I have mine apart and there isn't any remanince of a crush ring being there before, just two rubber seals that go inside of groves in the pipe.

Lean that rice grinder down, Amsoil at 50:1 and you are "crisp" on the throttle, clean at the pipe. If you are throwing a ton of oil out teh front, time for Rings at a minimum. Don't buy that crap from Yamaha at 20:1 to 32:1, you're safe at 40:1 with ****ty oil, yes, Yamahalube. Christ you could mix you car oil even after you ran 3000 miles on it, and get better results!!

the had in my other post is has. I'm still running the stock pipe, and because i'm kinda out of the racing seen, just racing the odd time not the whole season I don't plan on adding the pipe cuz it has enough power for me as it is.

I'm mixing at 40:1 right now with Amsoil and it has 125 psi so it shouldn't need rings. Its not a ton of oil leaking down the front its enought that you can see it and after a good long ride its everywhere on the front and bottom of the motor.

Update on my progress with fixing this is went and got two round o-rings from the hardware store just to try and see if it would fix it. Found out that the square ones seal on two points because of the grove in the outside edge, the round ones only seal on one point, this still allows some oil past. So $1.79 didn't fix it, but went to yamaha yesterday to see if they had the right ones, $26.85 later I hope I have it fix, but won't know until they arrive cuz they weren't in stock.
