RC valve?

iv been looking for a cr125 to upgrade from my bike and i was wondering what an RC valve was and what it does?
What year did they start making them with it?
i read on thumper talk that the 01 cr 125 was the last GOOD cr 125, anyone know the reasoning behind this?
would it be wise to look for a newer cr with the RC valve or would it matter?
i guess what im getting at is, does an RC valve make the bike faster or anything like that?
any help is greatly appreciated!

The RC valve on a Honda is like an exhaust valve on a snowmobile or other two stroke engine. So it should change the hight of the exhaust port making the engine preform better at all RPMS.
I can't tell you much about whether '01 was the last good one or not, the '08 I PDIed this past summer seem to work good for me, not like my 250 tho, but it was comparable to the '01 CR 125 we took on trade.

how did you ride a 08 CR125 when they stopped making them in 05-06ish?
but the RC valve just shifts the valve height at a different RPM then stock giving you more bottom (or for a 125) opens the port sooner to help snap into the meat of the powerband sooner.

they still made the 125 in 07, that the newest iv seen.
would it be smart to look for one with the RC valve or not?

Doesn't really matter, they both work great...I think the RC vavle is easier to work on. Not exactly sure.

I guess I should rephase that, it's not an actual '08 put wasn't in Canada or avalible to the costumer until spring of '08 the actual model year on the frame is '06, but because we had '06's still in the crate at the dealer we called the left overs that came from honda '08's so we didn't confuse new inventory with old. This helped us to move the ones that had been there since '06 before the ones that had just arrived.
