Winter is starting to whine down. and it's time to break out them dirtbikes and get them ready for the new season.
For mine the list is as follows:
Motor:
Top-end rebuild. getting a new Wiseco Pro-lite piston and new crank seals.
Tranny:
New clutch Plates, Fibers, and springs
Cosmetic:
New Gripper Seat cover to keep me planted under hard acceleration
Tires:
New Maxxis Desert IT rear tire
and then the usual, strip it down to the frame, get that sand blasted and check for broken welds or weak spots. Regrease all suspension, steering components and rebuild the shock and forks.
new fluids. and i'll be set. pictures to come as i tear into the project.

I dont wanna figure that out Suzi... ha ha... I typically trade every year which is about 1200, spend 100 bucks a month on tires (after a good sponsorship from Dunlop) Go through a couple sets of bars so prob 100 there (again after sponsorship) levers I now have the SixSixOne unbreakable lever which I havent broke yet ha ha so thats 70 for both (after discount)when I buy my bike I get all new plastics for it so when I trade I can throw the original stuff all back on, makes it look like new and get more for tradeha ha, so thats another 100. graphics 140. plus figure 70 for extra number plate graphics because I always break a couple number plates a year. I get 3 different sprockets and 2 chains but usually wear out on sprocket and chain a couple times asummer so figure 180 for the chains an 180 for sprockets. I get my suspension done which I cant say how much I get that for but 600 i think is normal price but i get it alot lower. For seals i think is around 60-80. Tripple clamps are lil over hundred. This is all estimates! I would say 2500 but thats 1200 for my trade in so if u dont count that its 1300... Again this is estimated VERY rough estimate. What do u think u spend Mx? Im sure I missed stuff and my prices are just quick estimates i didt look them up.

last year used 4 rear tires
2 sets of sprockets
2 chains
1 set of levers
1 set of bars
27 quarts of oil
3 gal of premix oil
55 gal drum of c12 race fuel
2 air filters
1 set of swingarm bearings
and a pipe
i think that wraps it up.. so roughly 800-1000 last year.
next year i'm planning on upgrading the bike, so going to be a spendy year. hopefully find a blown 2007 or 2008 yz250 i can get for cheap and just swap out the OEM for the aftermarket goodies from the beginning
BRAAAAAAAAAAAAP!

last year Top and bottom end $600 1 set of tires $120 Brake pads $45 1 set chain\sprocket $80 2 air filters $20 bucks That's with 15 percent off so around $800 or so but that was the first bottom end and that was pricey usually its around $400 a year plus oil and gas.

Wow!!! Racing is expensive. We usually get a new rear tire, chain and sprockets every 2 years. Thats pretty much all unless I break something.

racing it's self is not too terribly bad, just if your serious into it you learn to find the problem area's on your bike and invest in fixing it before it comes a serious issue.
