2 stroke to 4 stroke??? started by davidwdowney

hey everyone. I am looking at buying a 2 stroke bike but i have only driven a 4stroke before. Is there anything i should before i first step foot onto this bike.??

Not much really the bike is the same for the most part. One thing to watch out for the way the power delivery is on a two stroke comepared to the four stroke. A four stroke has the same power through most of its power curve, but a two stroke has a point where the power instantly changes, it goes from soft and smooth to incrediable and snappy. It can be very suprising the first few rides if your not used to it.

Other then that the bikes are very similar maintance wise and so on.

The hardest part i found coming from my xr 100 to my cr 125 was that i found i almost had to learn to ride again. i sucked terribly at first with the clutch on the new bike but after a while i got better and got used to it.

you'll like the 2 stroke after getting used to it

Mainly just you need to get used to the power band that will be the biggest difference. what bike you changein from and goin too?

Thats mainly just because Mx is too big of a girl to ride a 4-stroke. Ha ha jk those 250 2 smokers have more alot more power than I know what to do with
