For those of you who race, what tips or suggestions do you have for guys who have bikes that may want to try racing for the first time?

Just stay calm first race. Get used to riding with other peopke before you go out and race. Practice starts and corners. Have fun!

Ya, that'd be pretty cool. I'm lookin forward to it. Might take matt along or somethin too.

Theres this guy I work for who has a ton of pasture land and I've been trying to talk him into letting me and a couple buddies build a track out there, and maybe a couple jumps. Can't wait till June rolls around again!!!

Blitzing definatly, thats also by far the hardest way to go through them. You have to definatly be 100% commited to them. On the back fender, keep the bike a gear higher or 2 in some cases than you normaly would. Typically If I find a whoop section hard, I start by doubleing through, then i will find a rythm say like double double tripple tripple double or whatever works for that section, then i try to come in and do a rythm then blitz out. If im feelin comfortable with that I just put the front tire on the 2nd whoop or so in and get on the back of my seat, keep my body semi centered but still with your weight back (shoulders about middle of seat), keep the legs tight, look ahead, and keep a steady throttle in 4th gear (90% of the time). Hopefully this helps

Like kawi said, you have to be commited, crack the throttle open, lean back and be prepared to react to how the bike goes.... and also be ready to take a few licks and falls, cause it will happen.

not the greatest whoops, but found some by my house made of sand (great because bike reacts more in sand then on dirt and softens the falls)
