Just wondering what kinda of air filter everyone use's. What do you use for oil (brand, spray on, or the bottle kind) what do you use for cleaner... Grease the rim?

Well I have always ran Twin Air filters. As for oil, I just pour on some 10w 40 motor oil or what ever we have laying around. Pour a bunch on the outside and than squeeze it through the whole filter.

ha yes thats what i mean. The " rim" of where the filter sits connecting to the airbox.
I actually never tried using the mixing oil on the filter when I had 2 strokes.

Twin Air as well. And will be starting to use the spary on K&N stuff like MX 86 just for the ease of use.
I see know one has said what they are using to clean their filter?

Just soap and water, and if it's really dirty, Jungle Jake Engine degreaser mixed 30/70 with water

I just use varsol. I used to just use engine oil on my filter which is why I use varsolto remove all the old oily residue. Now I use Uni spray on filter oil with a Uni filter.

I use Kawasaki Filter oil. To clean I use UNI cleaner, then soapy water, then clean water. For Filters I have Filtron.

I just clean it in the parts washer. Not sure what kind of solvent is in there but it works great. Some people I know wash theres in gasoline, guess I've never tried that.

Yea we used to do ours in gas. Its kinda hard on the filters and also had a incident couple years ago at an indoor race, I always take the back pressure or w/e screen out of the air box, well my bike backfired into the airbox which made my air filter start on fire. It was interesting ha ha. Got the filter out in time didnt hurt much. I've never seen one of my friends take a seat off that fast tho ha ha. So that kinda ended the cleaning with gas. Im sure its not only because of that, that it started on fire but im sure it helped it ha ha. Between that and it being hard on the filters we just decided to clean it with the right stuff.
