Well yesterday I went out and bought a 1996 KX250 for $1400. When I got it home the rear shock oil had pissed out all over the trailer and when I went to change the oil there was waaay too much in it and it was milky, so I took the rad cap off and it was about half full. After disassembling the right side crank case cover I have come to the conclusion that I need the same parts I just put on my old CR. I need water pump shaft seals, right side crank case cover gasket, and a water pump cover gasket. I have a spare bottom end so I'm just going to use the water pump shaft out of that as it is brand new. As for the rear shock, the head seal is about $50 bucks and I was told it was another $50 to put it in. I also need to put new swingamr bearings in it, but I was aware of those already being shot before I bought the bike.

I called the guy back that same day and he said he would give me some money back, so I went back to his house and he gave ma 100 bucks back. So I bought this bike for the same price I sold my old bike for and I gained 7 years. The bike has an FMF pipe and silencer and came with a bunch of spare engine parts. So hopefully I can get this thing fixed fairly cheap. Whats your thoughts on what I paid and what needs to be done?

Haha everyone likes the black rims. Bike is already for sale though lol. I have it listed for $1800 and people are emailing me wanting it. If I can make some money off of it, I'll sell it, if not I'll just keep it. Its off season anyways so I don't care how many bikes I go through

Fixed. It only cost me $50 for the parts as the spare bottom end had a lot of what I needed other than the shock, which I'm selling it with the leaking shock.

Nope, I got $1300 for it and turned around and ended up getting the KX for the same price. I have to put some money into the KX though, if I don't sell it haha.

Haha, ya I loved the Cr but there was a few small things that bugged me about it that I couldn't fix. So I bought a newer bike. there is a lot of interest in it though so hopefully it will be gone soon and I can get something even newer. Haha I'm going to keep it if I can't make a little money off of it though.
