Hey guys, I am selling the ttr and looking into getting a comp bike, and need your opinions. there is a kx 100 very close to where I live, and hes asking $1600 firm. He said he bought it 3 years ago and it was really beat up but he put over $3000 to fix it up. He also says it had a whole new motor put in. It seems way overpriced but what do I know. What do you guys think? Can I do better?

price isn't too bad. Depends on the condition of the bike. Last year we sold a KX85 2005 for 1500. Thats a year older, but its a 100 so price is in the right area I would say. Looks to have quite a bit of time on it judging by the amount of paint rubbed off the frame. After market exhaust and bars. Looks like the seat is shaved down. What did he do to the engine? Top end, bottom end, both? or did he actually buy a whole new engine for it? I guess since he said it was pretty beat I would wanna know what that 3000$ went into to fix it up. To put 3 grand in a bike that small you would have to replace alot of parts.

What do you mean a 150 Suzi? A CRF150R is going to be smaller than a 100. The wheels on a 100 are bigger than a CRF (same size as a KX85 or CR85 Big wheel I believe). The Kx is also gonna have more power than a 150. The next size bike would be a 125.

You ever put any thought into a 2 stroke 85? I used to have one awhile back, I loved that bike. They got tons of power and are a bunch of fun.

Yeah Ive thought about everything haha I just figured if I could find a fairly cheap 100 it would last me even longer than an 85.

Well keep looking you will find one, prime time to buy hasn't even hit yet, give it a few more weeks and there will be alot more bikes on the market.

a 2 stroke 80 keeps up to 125's and 250's speed wise, it just doesn't get to that speed as fast.

^^^Our 125 would whoop our 80. They were dead even out of the hole but the 125 would pull away around 3rd gear. The 80 didn't have much for top speed either compared to the 125. It only went about 55.

Me, MX4life and another buddy raced. It was my '89 CR250 against mx's '02 CR125 and the other guys 1986 CR80. Top speed wise they were one in front of the other holding right on. It was down a long road too.

That 80 was surprisingly fast. Mabey its the fact that his bike has 6 gears and mine has 5 but he could keep up no problem. I would pull away befor him and he couldent catch me but he held that bike WFO and i dident.

The 6th gear had a lot to do with it. Your standard 85 these days have only 5 gears...

I would pass. A KX 100 is basically a bored KX 85. Not a whole lot more power. And it does look kind of clapped out.
And after posted I realized the last post was about 2 weeks ago... lol this site isnt very busy.
