Hello, I have a 2007 cr250 that seems almost to be running out of gas? When I ride and hit power band it runs fine, but once I'm off the gas it revs high as though it is running out of gas. I put both bigger pilot and main jet in and it seems to be better. But I have been told that this is normal for Honda's? I always run 93 octane with Spectro premix. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks

Take your carb apart and clean out the jets. You most likely have a clogged main jet.

Make sure your fuel/air mixture screw is at the right setting and that our choke mechanism still works properly.

Im confused? It revs high like its running out of gas? When your running out of gas it sounds like its bogging... If its reving high, Next time your riding it does that try letting go of the clutch and holding it back in. Sometimes mine will rev high after hitting high RPMs then holding the clutch

Suzi_Rider-I took apart the carb and cleaned all of the jets and they were fine.

MX86- The plug is all black because I put larger jets in to help with the problem. It is seemed to help with the problem. But still it still revs up.
DarksideCR- The problem mainly is when im on the gas hard then let off the engine revs up high. It sounds like its almost running out of gas. But i tried the clutch thing you said and it helped. So Im guessing that this just normal?

I don't understand what you mean by it revs up high like its running out of gas...
First I would say if you plug is black your too rich. Either change your jet, or drop your needle.
Second it could very possible be something with your clutch. Where the cable come out the other side of the mount pull on it and pull your clutch lever until the cable touches your mount, when the clutch is not pulled in you should have enough slack to fit a quarter between them.

Your clutch might not be ajusted right. If it keeps doing it have someone look at your setting, it might be too tight.
