Hey,
As you might already know from MX4Life's status we went to a track for the first time on Saturday. I had lots of fun but have a couple questions. On a couple jumps the bike always seemed to want to pitch forward and I was told your supposed to give it gas to bring it back up, but is there a way to just avoid having the front end low in the first place? Also, I burned through a set of back break pads that were brand new and there right down to the rotor now but would that be because of ****ty pads or because the track was just soupy?

have to hit the jump with the throttle on, and as far as the pads, is your rotor warped?

Ya if its kickin your front end down make sure your comin off the takeoff on the gas. also if you lean back a bit it will compress your suspension some and keep it more level. But yes if your in the air and its nose down rev it up. For the rotors, you definatly shouldnt go through that fast. Like mx said check your rotor.

I used break in the form of sanding the oily residue used to store the pads without having them decompose before installation not in context of BRAKE as in material

Alright thanks for the tip. I'll try that next time. As for the pads don't you just spray them down with brake cleaner? Also when I changed my tire I had the wheel spacers off of the rim and I couldn't remember exactly where ech one went but I was pretty sure I put them on the proper side. Could that make any difference? I'm pretty sure they wore evenly.

NEVER spray them with cleaner... erodes the glue that holds the pad together... Rub them on some sand paper and then just lightly run your brake to break them into your rotor

You'll have so much fun on the track for the first time. The track we went to was all tables so there wasn't really anything to be hesitant about when hitting them except for the angle you landed of course.

Well, I guess our little homemade tracks and stuff don't really compare to these things lol. Should be pretty fun.

Alton isnt anything too extreme. There are only like 2 jumps that arent really "begginer". In the 2nd rythm to tripple out, and there is a decent sized supercross jump. Other than that its pretty basic. Im sure you will do fine Dekk.

I'm not sure what the old pads were but the new ones I got are Sintered pads. Which are better?
