Well what get's shown the most..... Bikes.

Stickers to put on bikes and vehicles.
Word of mouth
could run ads in the big mags like dirt rider and racer x.
See if you could drop off business card type things at the main product retailers like Dennis Kirk in Rush city, Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, Motosport, Bob's cycle. etc.
of course google will help as we get more threads and spiders browsing

could ask local tracks if you could put a banner up around the tracks.
Post a topic in the local District forums. MN is D23.
www.mxbob.com < could advertise there.
sponsor a rider.

all i got for now LOL

Another one for the stickers. I think one to go on the side of the front fenders would work great. Make up a large batch and maybe start giving some of them out at the races to generate interest and sell them online as well.

I would put a sticker of dirtbike fanatics on my bike.

Print some posters and hang them up at local tracks. Even send some to some members willing to spread the news. I would be willing if thats what you would like to do.

I agree that the sticker idea would most likely be a good way to spread the word. If you make some I will have to make it a point to buy some.

I still think that the poster/stand idea is good. Put them at a track or trails head and you'll get alot of new members.

How do you gauge the popularity of the site? Registered members? Users online, guests and registered users? Just curious because I see the most users online have been 508 but registered users is still 32.
