Ok, my friend has a 2000 CR125R. There is no power to the wheels. We replaced the clutch and springs and it wasn't the problem. It still shifts through all 5 gears as well. Before it happend he said it seemed as if his chain was hoping over his sprockets, which is impossible cause it has brand new sprockets and chain. So any ideas???

Put it on a stand and fire it up and shift through the gears to make sure the tire spins without load.
I think you may have broke the primary drive gear, it's a long shot, but would explain it and the (sound of the hopping chain)

I think mx knows alot more about the transmission than me. It sounds like to me just your 2nd gear is out weather its stripped or what i wouldnt know, where suzi's problem the primary gear is the problem hence why your bikes fine in other gears except 2nd and suzi's is in all gears. hopefully mx gets on sometime soon here and can be more help

My first diagnosis to check would be to measure the thickness of the 2nd gear clutch and pressure plate to make sure they are within tolerance (usually the whole clutch slips with this tho).
Second gear is common among race bikes (since most start in second for starts) so my guess would be a stripped 2nd gear dog. Does it skip when under load in 2nd or just not move at all?

Im guessin 2nd is stripped. Have you drained your oil? Alot of metal shavings?

Ok, I feel like a total idiot for not even thinking of this. A few days before it happended he put on new sprockets. Well turns out he didn't have the front sprocket bolt tight and it striped out the splines inside the new sprocket. Never would have even thought of that happening. The shaft splines are still good so we put on the old sprocket and it
worked perfectly
