I noticed my 450 getting hot fast. im not sure if thats normal or not. I am considering buying those water pump kits that come with a bigger pump and the cover...do these even make a difference for the 150$ you gotta pay for it.

Well 4-strokes just run hotter. For the water pump I have always just ran stock ones. I do not know if aftermarket is worth it or not.

Engine Ice. Cheaper and more efficient then the Boyeseen pump (however had one on my 2000 yz and it works surprisingly well)

Basically if it's not puking out of the overflow tube it's fine, 4-strokes just run hot. Buddy of mine had a 350x that you could roast a turkey from 3 feet away and it still runs mint to this day. If you're not in danger of being roosted, try pulling out the radiator guards and see if that helps. Make sure all the fins are straight and you can see clear thru the radiators (small screw driver works perfect for bending them back). Look inside to see if any calsium has built up on the core. you can buy radiator flush at any auto store. Clean all the mud off that poor girl it acts like a blanket.
If you can't afford a new four stroke, you can't afford a used one either!

Yea engine ice is just a Brand of coolant. Its supposed to reduce tempatures by so many degree's and such. We run it in all of our bikes and seems to work good. I don't have a temp bar but we have never had any problem's with them getting hot either.

Ahh, but like 1down5up said 4strokes run hotter. and its not getting hot to the point where its bogging and catching fire. And my bike is always clean! never leave it after a ride dirty!
