Is it normal for a 4 stroke to do a lot of cackling and back firing in cold temperatures? (70-60 degrees). Or is my mixture screw completely messed up?

Cold air is more dense but 60-70 is not cold but thats just to me Backfiring and popping is from a lean condition so colder the air the leaner your bike will run. Do you have a fuel screw tinker with that to rinchin it up.

what they said. if it was doin it this morning could be because the air is so dense and chilly. do you have one of those easy adjust fuel screws on there?

just let it idle and then twist your throttle wide open. then go in out a till you feel it click to next notch and do it again, keep doing that until there isn't and bog. Thats what I do. Sometimes you have to go in with it but in your case im gueussing your lean so go out to richen it up. let me know if that helps

mines typically more than 2 clicks. I would start at two clicks and go out. when it seems like its good throttle response with no bog leave it there, if you keep going and it gets worse go back in with it until it gets better. like i said though start at two clicks and rev it up if it bogs turn it out a bit and try it again, keep doing that until it seems to have good response with no bog, or as minimal as possible. you shouldnt have to turn it out too much. ill send ya a text too.
