my buddy picked up a 2009 kawi 250 f monster addition the other day, and noticed the wheel isnt inline with the handle bars. the forks are straight with the bars, the fender is inline, its just the tire? what would cause this and how would we go about fixing it?

this pic might give you an idea of what im trying to explain

SOLD 2005 kx 250f.

I dont really understand what your saying I guess. To me it looks like the fender is just crooked. put the bars straight then look from the front of the bike and see how the tire lines up with the frame, thats what I usually do. When stuff up front is not straight usually its
-bars bent
-bar mounts are bent/ dont line up
-or the forks are twisted

If the bars are bent - get new bars
If the bar mounts are bent/or dont line up sometimes u can loosen the nut bellow the top triple clamp and move the bars and mounts around a bit to loosen up any tension, then tight it back up and it should straighten up. If it doesnt then get new clamps.
And if the forks are twisted loosen the 8 bolts that hold the forks on, yank it around a bit to loosen any tension (not real hard) then tighten everything back up.

I have never had any problems with my bars, mounts, forks, fender ligning up but not my front wheel. Not to say it couldnt happen but are u sure that all of those line up, except the front wheel. If that is the case im not sure, Maybe your wheel is not trued, rims bent, thats about all I can think of.

hey its my bike.. basically just the front wheel has a slight turn to the right when everything is lined up. the bars are straight in line with the fender i am positive of that. i tried spinning the wheel a few times and it does have a tiny hop to it but it doesnt look to be anything serious.. i know how to adjust the steering on a sled but im not that good with adjusting the dirtbike steering. im starting to think that the right fork might just be twisted a bit like you were saying. i will loosen off the bolts and try and straighten it out. any other help would be appreciated

Make sure your forks and triple clamps are lined up correctly. Your fender could be bent so lining it up with that doesn't always work, but the fender does look straight in the picture.

Yea try what I said and let me know how that works. Never line it up with fender, line it up with the frame from the front while u have someone hold the bars straight. If the wheel has a hop its either the rims bent or it out of true, check to see if the spokes are bent, broke, or just loose.

You will love it. What's it got for gearing on it? Iv'e found 13/48-49's work best depending on the track. I ran 50 for everthing on my 07' and found that the 50 gave my 09' too much bottom end and not enough over rev. Also may not hurt to put some sylicone aroudn the hot start where it goes into the carb (I took mine off to do it), if you wash your bike often like I do it seems like moisture/water gets in there and your hot start will stick. Any other questions on the bike please ask me, Ive had mine for 2 years and know it pretty well inside and out.

ya i did hear about that hotstart issue, the guy i bought it off of told me exactly what you just did. he already has it siliconed up. i hate when my hotstart on my sled sticks it blows my reeds out so im gonna make sure it doesnt stick on my bike haha. thanks alot if i got any other questions ill post them.
